But they often lack the data and visibility needed to make informed decisions.

What is Evolvedev?

Evolvedev is a Software Engineering Intelligence ( SEI ) platform designed to provide leaders, managers, and individual contributors with easily accessible & actionable insights.

We believe that visibility at all levels of the organization will help everyone understand the impact that they are making and how they are able to provide value, which eventually is pushing the organization goals faster. This clear visibility is lacking as of today.

Our vision is to empower engineering teams to deliver excellence through our platform that enables visibility across the organization.

Why should you care?

Success in the software engineering ecosystem is driven by speed & stability. All concepts, theories, and frameworks related to software engineering ultimately revolve around these two key areas.

Speed and stability mean different things at each level. For C-suite leaders, it's providing more value to the customers and improving their confidence in the product. For engineering managers, it's creating more value for the organization & team productivity. Finally, for the individual contributors, it's pushing their limits and becoming better engineers.

Regrettably, an engineering organisation cannot pursue a single magic metric (such as ARR for the sales team). It's a combination of a lot of things done right over time that makes an engineering org become excellent. This is where Evolvedev can help by providing insights into areas of improvement.

Why now?

A few years ago,

• Monoliths were mainstream.
• Cloud was still a relatively new concept,
• The discipline of DevOps was yet to mature.
• Security was not of high priority.
• Teams were relatively centralized.
• Most of the software was in-house managed.

Fast forward to today

• Microservices are mainstream—although they have solved the problems with monoliths, they have created a new set of challenges.
• Public cloud is democratized. Brought the entry barrier down by a lot for new players in any segment, hence the need for speed is born.
• DevOps is a matured space with tools for any kind of scenario. The missing piece for a lot of teams is the process and visibility around the tools.
• Shift-left security is a thing now with an increasing amount of cyber threats.
• Remote and distributed teams are viable with all the communication tools available as of today (Slack, Zoom, etc.). This also brought the problem of collaborating on team and org-level objectives and goals.
• Finally, as most of the tools used by software organizations are SaaS-based, this provides an opportunity for us to gather and analyze a lot of data.

We are a founding team of two, bringing our experience in engineering and product together to deliver a delightful experience through EvolveDev.
